Joanna Patchett

Joanna began her yoga practice in 2005 while studying at the National Theater Institute in Waterford, CT. As part of her training in movement, Joanna took yoga classes from Marya Ursin, a student of Swami Satchidananda. Inspired by the deep connection that yoga creates for the mind, body, and spirit, Joanna decided to make yoga part of her life. Ever since, Joanna has continued her journey with yoga, practicing Ashtanga for over four years with Melissa Collins, exploring the benefits of Iyengar, Hatha, and Anusara styles at Binghamton Yoga, as well as maintaining her own dedicated practice on the mat at home.

Joanna is a Certified Instructor with Yoga Alliance in both Hatha and Vinyasa Flow styles. She completed her 200-hr teacher training under Jennifer Yarro at Frog Lotus Studio in North Adams, MA (2010) and plans to continue her professional studies.

Joanna believes that each style of yoga has its own unique benefits, whether it be the alignment of Iyengar, the openness of Anusara, the steadiness of Hatha, or the flow of Vinyasa. She finds that the key to a good practice is for it to be well-rounded and includes techniques from across the different disciplines in her classes.
