Rachel began practicing Yoga and Pilates in 2002, during her undergraduate studies at RIT. After college she moved to Dallas, TX where she worked at an architecture firm and continued her yoga studies at Karmany Yoga. After being in Dallas for about 2 years, the architectural firm closed due to the economy, and Rachel found her over-achieving self out of a job. She began practicing yoga almost everyday, was humbled and calmed down, and realized - yoga is what she needed to do. She decided to make her way back to New York (having grown up here), and got her 200 hr Yoga Alliance certification at Yoga People in Brooklyn, NY, under the guidance of her two main teachers - Donna Lynn Civello and Matthew Seidman. Rachel is grateful and thankful for being given the opportunity to share yoga with everyone, and encourages her students to slow down, feel their life force (prana), and breath. Her classes are fun and upbeat, with laughter and teaching from the heart. When Rachel is not teaching yoga you can usually find her hanging out with her pets (Vera and Mr. Leo), gardening, cooking, or reading. |
