May Substitution Schedule
In general substitute instructors will maintain the same physical intensity level of the class for which they're subbing - even though the exact style may vary.
Align & Flow Yoga - A skillfull blend of alignment, attention to breath and life-affirming philosophy. Level 1 classes introduce students to foundational poses and technique and are appropriate for beginning and ongoing students. Level 1-2 classes introduce more challenging poses and alignment technique in a more flowing sequence. Level 2-3 classes introduce intermediate poses in a more vigorous flowing sequence.
Iyengar Yoga - Iyengar Yoga is a progressive practice. Learning to practice safely with the use of props, specific sequencing, and a focus on correct alignment Iyengar Yoga creates a body of knowledge which builds upon itself from class to class and level to level. Level 1 - Standing poses and other basic poses are taught for new students and those new to the Iyengar method. Level 2 - Inversions and a selection of more challenging poses are taught. Level 3 - Very serious students with a home practice which includes Sirsasana (headstand), and Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulderstand).
Release & Renew Yoga - A skillful blend of Svaroopa® style yoga, meditation, relaxation and life-affirming philosophy. The integration of meditation, relaxation and precisely aligned, propped yoga poses to help release the deepest tensions in your spine and body, leaving you revived and refreshed.
$7 Release & Renew Yoga - One hour of Svaroopa® style yoga, meditation, and relaxation for $7 (cash only please). This shorter version of our 90 minute Release and Renew class is great for beginners or anyone looking to experience how good it feels to take an hour out of your day to deeply relax.
$7 Flow - one hour of Flow Yoga for $7 (cash only please). A well-rounded practice to strengthen and stretch the whole body in a steady flowing sequence. Come to move and sweat while exploring the more playful side of yoga. This class is not appropriate for students with injuries. Newer students welcome. Unlimited and new student passes may be used to attend this class.
$7 Gentle - one hour of Gentle Yoga for $7 (cash only please). A well-rounded practice to strengthen and stretch the whole body through the use of carefully aligned poses and the support of props. This class is particularly well-suited for beginners, seniors, pregnant woman, anyone with physical limitations, or anyone looking for a more relaxed practice. Unlimited and new student passes may be used to attend this class.
AcroYoga Play - Playful introduction to AcroYoga foundations and therapeutics. Work will focus on core-strength & stability, building proficiency with basic postures, and partner work. No partner necessary. No previous experience expected. Requires physical strength & kinesthetic awareness. Please contact Jason@BinghamtonYoga.com before attending this class. This is a "donation-based" class - so pay what you can IF you can.
Yin Yoga - Yin yoga is the essence of soft, slow, explorative movement. Rarely will you leave the floor and props. Postures are held for many minutes, sinking deeper & deeper into them while releasing the tension embedded in our fascia. Each Yin posture feels like a short meditation and an entire practice leaves the practitioner feeling rejuvenated & glowing.
Prenatal Yoga - Not currently offered. Private lessons available.
All classes can be attended on a drop-in basis, no registration required.
