Carmen VanNess, RYT 200
Carmen VanNess received her YTT 200 hr. certification at the Yoga Farm in Lansing, NY in 2018, but started moving her body at a very young age. Her movement practice began at the age of 4 with gymnastics, and shifted to dance as an adolescent, along with studying Capoeira (a Brazilian martial art/dance) during her Rotary youth exchange program. Carmen focused on modern dance with her University Dance Company, and continues to perform and teach dance across the Southern Tier.
Her yoga practice began at the age of 12 thanks to her older sister, and yoga companion. Yoga has been a part of her life ever since, complimenting her dance career, her profession as a public school Spanish teacher, and as a dance/yoga instructor at Link Movement Arts Center. She is also passionate about travel, cultural exploration, environmentalism, connecting to nature, all things outdoorsy, and somatic movement practices.
Carmen looks forward to meeting you and helping guide you on your yoga journey. Love and Light!
