Elisa Camiscioli, PHD, RYT 500
I have been teaching yoga since 1996. My classes judiciously combine deep asana, serious playfulness, and a poetic remembrance of the self. I strive to teach from everyday experiences and not from dogma, and to highlight how the yoga practice cultivates attention and self-love while unearthing an unanticipated strength from within. Above all else, I hope to share what strength and freedom feel like in the body, heart, and mind. Over the past twenty years, I have completed multiple teacher trainings in both vinyasa and alignment-based yoga, along with workshops in meditation, philosophy, and spiritual activism. From this eclectic background, I draw from the teachings that best serve the moment at hand, as my current understanding of modern hatha yoga transcends any style or brand. These days, my yoga practice is focused on becoming more fully myself. In the process, I like to sweat, laugh, and do a lot of backbends.
