Kim Gruber, MS, E-RYT
Kim is a certified yoga instructor. She began teaching yoga in 2004, and has since accumulated over 600 hours of yoga training. Kim’s introduction to yoga came in the form of Ashtanga Yoga in 2002. This physically challenging style of yoga provided a perfect transition from years of competitive athletics to the yoga mat. In time, chronic pain and injuries led her from the fast-paced Ashtanga/Vinyasa practice to a slower-paced, alignment-based practice. Her chronic pain and injuries subsided and she has never looked back. Since 2009 she has focused on a more therapeutic approach to yoga, studying primarily with Martin Kirk, Zhenja La Rosa and Doug Keller. This therapeutic approach has been equally informed by her Masters of Science in Exercise Science. During her graduate studies Kim focused primarily on researching the physiological effects of yoga practice. Her teaching methodology unites the more evidence-based knowledge of Exercise Science with the more experiential-based knowledge of Yoga, yielding classes that are both therapeutic and physically challenging.
