Here are 3 helpful tips to approach your practice from home:
1. Interruptions are normal.
The studio is a dedicated space where your phone, family, and pets aren't around. That having been said, even at the studio we experience the sound of firetrucks or the post office hard at work. Distractions and interruptions are a part of your practice - staying calm in the midst of the world around you. Your home, with all of its distractions, is just as perfect a place to practice.
2. Embrace your space.
Whether you have a spare room or only the space in your kitchen, you're yoga practice can happen anywhere in your home. There are no rules on where you practice, what you wear, and you don't need to worry about arriving early or late.
3. Listen to your body.
At home, you are your own guide and without a teacher to offer individual guidance, it's important to listen to your body. Can you stay connected with your breath? If you feel something intense, ask yourself if you can breathe with it, make an adjustment, or come out of the pose all together. No pain is gain.
